Fall Education Session- October 15, 2022

Mike Yoder will be speaking on the opportunities and pitfalls of social media use by regulated health professionals.

This will be held virtually on Saturday October 15th at 9.30am.

Mike is the lead digital marketing specialist - social media for Spectrum Health System, part of a small corporate team tasked with overseeing the system's 70+ channel social media presence. This includes advising and collaborating with Marketing and Communications on both paid and organic social media strategies for service lines and initiatives throughout the organization.

He is the founder of LinkedUp Grand Rapids, a network of over 18,000 business people from the West Michigan region with the goal of building trusted business relationships and giving back to the community.

He lives in Grand Rapids, MI with his wife and has three adult children and two grandsons.

Social media has advantages, but it can also have pitfalls, especially for healthcare professionals. We are all aware of privacy and freedom of information constraints when it comes to patient information. But that doesn’t mean we can’t use social media productively. We just need to be mindful that the things we share and how we engage on social media can have a significant impact both personally and professionally. Mike will take a look at some case studies and review best practices for using social media productively.
