As per the NSRMIRT Registration Requirements Policy, all applicants for licensing must meet the following requirements:
Successful completion of an approved program in the specified discipline(s). For a list of approved programs, please check the Accreditation Canada list of accredited education programs.
Successful completion of entrance to practice exams as follows:
CAMRT in the selected discipline(s) or
the examination of the Ordre des Technologues en Imagerie Medical en Radiooncologie et en Electrophysiologie Medicale du Quebec (OTIMROEPMQ) for those who did MIRTP education in Quebec or
Sonography Canada
Copy of government-issued photo ID
Documentation of name change if current name does not match submitted documents
Legal entitlement to work in Canada
English Language proficiency in reading and writing
Good Character via submission of a clean vulnerable sector check and clear internet search. This must be obtained within six months of application. Request form for individuals registering can be located here.
Required clinical practice hours within the past 5 years
Evidence of sufficient personal liability insurance
If transferring from another regulated jurisdiction, evidence of good standing
Completion of the Jurisprudence Module, which can be found under Educational Resources, and the associated exam within the registrant portal (note: if you cannot access the exam, please email info@nscmirtp.ca to be added to the exam group)
