MIRTPs must maintain their license with NSCMIRTP, the regulator, to practice in Nova Scotia. To do this they must renew their registration with the NSCMIRTP every year.
NSCMIRTP's registration period begins on January 1st and expires on December 31st each year.
Renewals are to be completed online from November 1st to December 1st by clicking on the Registrant Login section of the website and selecting Licence Renewal from the menu on the left-hand side. Registrants will begin to receive renewal reminders via email in September. Please see our Renewal Guide 2025 for step by step instructions.
*Renewing after December 1st is considered a late renewal and late fees will apply. Those that do not renew by December 31st each year are considered lapsed and are no longer licensed to practice as an MIRTP in Nova Scotia. Renewal of license after Dec. 31st is no longer possible, and individuals must then go through the Reinstatement process. Those that allowed their license to lapse without submitting a resignation will be charged a lapsed registrant fee upon reinstating, which is currently $50.
