NSCMIRTP: Launch of Search, Executive Director / Registrar

As Chair of the Search Committee for the next Executive Director / Registrar I am pleased to share information on our approach and timeline for the Search.

To ensure we find the right candidate for Executive Director / Registrar we have put in place a consultative and open search process with milestones over the next several months. We have also engaged Dr. Jennie Massey from KBRS as a consultant to support the process. KBRS Executive Search brings one of the largest teams in the country dedicated to the sector.

The Search Committee’s mandate is to conduct a broad, fair, and effective recruitment process to attract a strong field of candidates and to provide advice on a preferred candidate to the Board for final approval. We will share public information about the search process with you in a planned manner that informs and encourages participation. We want to establish a consultative and open approach to the search early and, as we proceed, provide timely updates to keep you informed.

To launch this, I am providing you with information about the timeline and key milestones for the search and plans for a consultation process that will begin shortly.

Timeline for the Search

Working with KBRS, we have constructed a timeline that aims to announce the next Executive Director / Registrar by September 2024.

Search High-Level Milestones Period
Begin Stakeholder Consultations May 2024
Position Profile / Ad Published June 2024
Candidate Assessments August 2024
Candidate Interviews Mid-August 2024
Candidate Recommendation and Announcement September 2024

Community Consultation
Consultations with stakeholders and members of the community are an important part of this search. These conversations will provide the Search Committee with input from key internal and external partners. Over the coming weeks, KBRS will reach out to contact various individuals and groups on the first stage of consultations. These meetings will be conducted by a qualitative researcher from KBRS and will be shared only in aggregated form with the Search Committee.

We also encourage everyone to share their input with us by completing the online consultation survey.

Next Steps
Our next milestone will be the publication of the job advertisement. This is expected in June. I will email you with a link to the advertisement once the position is live so you may apply / share the ad with your contacts.

This is an important search that will contribute significantly to the continued advancement of The Nova Scotia College of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Professionals. I hope you will share your experience, expertise, and perspective to the process and help to create a positive environment for the next Executive Director / Registrar to begin their appointment.

If you have any questions about the search process, please reach out to Jennie Massey jmassey@kbrs.ca.

Thank you.

Kenny Zhan,
Chair of the NSCMIRTP
